Kiva Rose is an herbalist in the Anima Medicine Woman Tradition. She teaches and practices down to earth herbalism, nutrition and healing based on the same principles our ancestors followed within an adaptive and contemporary context. A strong proponent of sustainable bioregional herbalism, she loves all things weedy and wild and can often be found deep in the woods with her face in a flower.

Kiva is the author of the forthcoming The Medicine Woman’s Herbal, an in depth guide to common nourishing herbs, traditional and wild foods, and healing the Medicine Woman way. This column is special excerpts and works in progress from the book to be specially shared with the readers here at HerbMentor. She makes her home in the Mogollon Mountains of the Gila bioregion of New Mexico at the Anima Botanical and Women’s Sanctuary. Visit her Blog, The Medicine Woman's Roots.

Kiva was featured on HerbMentor Radio in July, 2008.
